Janet Hill is an oil painter who lives and works in Stratford, Ontario, Canada. Her work has been featured in magazines such as, Matchbook Magazine and Design Sponge. Her paintings have been commissioned by clients, Tiffany & Co., Hallmark UK, and Harper Collins.
Janet sell’s her art on Etsy which is how I came across her work. She uses lovely high chroma colors and pastels that create a pleasant feeling amongst images of figures. The themes of her work evoke nostalgia and sweetness. Her paintings feature figurative, architectural, and still life. Sometimes the figures appear somber, almost reflective, while the environments are exciting due to their colors and rich arrangements. Janet’s work is very reminiscent of the 1950’s featuring classic telephones, furniture, and fashion.
